Living Ground • Southern Ecuador

There is a difference between being told what is happening in your body and actually seeing it for yourself. Live Blood Analysis allows you to place a fresh drop of your own blood under the microscope and observe it while it is still alive and moving. You begin to see the relationships between the cells, what is happening in the plasma, immune activity, movement, structure and many of the patterns that give us information about the terrain right now.

This is what makes Live Blood so interesting to me. The body is not static. We can look, change an input and look again. Food, hydration, minerals, herbs, ferments, movement, stress and rest can all become part of what we observe.

Learning Live Blood Analysis

I am going to teach you how to prepare live blood, work properly with the microscope and camera, recognize the patterns you are seeing and begin understanding what they mean together. Much of our time will be spent at the microscope because Live Blood is learned by actually doing it.

We will look at red blood cell movement, spacing and structure, rouleaux, fibrin, plasma and immune activity, hydration, mineral and electrolyte patterns, protein balance, waste and congestion, zeta potential and other observations that can appear in a live sample. We will also explore how digestion, assimilation, circulation, elimination, metabolism and microbial balance can be part of the bigger terrain picture.

I don’t want you memorizing a chart and attaching a meaning to every shape you see. I want you to learn how to look at the whole sample, recognize relationships and ask good questions about what the blood may be showing you.

Your Own Blood

You will work with your own blood throughout the workshop. This makes the learning very personal because you can connect what you are seeing with what you are eating, drinking and doing each day. We can observe a sample, make changes and look again, giving you the opportunity to see how responsive your own terrain can be.

Food, herbs, minerals, ferments and practical terrain support will be part of our work. I will show you how I put the pieces together, decide what deserves attention and use what we are seeing to make sensible choices without trying to address every marker separately.

Food, Gardens and Microbes

Food is part of the workshop and meals are prepared through our onsite Gratitude Café using ingredients from our gardens and local producers. We accommodate vegan, vegetarian, meat and gluten-free diets, and we can use food as another practical part of what we are observing.

We will also spend time in the gardens and kitchen, connecting the human microbiome with the microbial world of living soil and the soil food web. You will get your hands dirty and awesomely infected with great microbes, work with fermentation and make your own personalized ferment to take home.

What You Will Learn

  • How to prepare and observe a live blood sample
  • How to use and adjust the microscope and camera
  • How to recognize red blood cell patterns, spacing, movement and structure
  • How to recognize rouleaux, fibrin and plasma activity
  • How to observe immune activity
  • How hydration, minerals, electrolytes and protein balance can influence what you see
  • Zeta potential and the electrical relationships between cells
  • How to observe waste and congestion within the plasma
  • How food and daily inputs can influence the blood
  • How to compare samples and follow changes
  • How to look for relationships between observations
  • How to bring food, herbs, ferments and practical terrain support into what you are seeing
  • How the microbiome and microbial terrain fit into the bigger picture of health

Personal Attention

Cover of Live Blood Guide Book available on amazonThis is a small workshop because I want time to work with you personally. There will be plenty of microscope time, time to ask questions, prepare another sample, compare what you are seeing and work through something when you don’t understand it. I want you involved, looking and learning through doing.

Every participant will receive a copy of my book, Live Blood Analysis, along with a Student Manual to work with throughout the course and continue using afterward. At the completion of the workshop, you will also receive your own personalized Live Blood Analysis report, bringing together what we have observed in your blood and practical guidance for your own terrain.

Living Ground

The workshop is held at the Living Ground Project in southern Ecuador, where the gardens, food, microbes and natural environment become part of the experience. You will also have access to our spa area, sauna and yoga room, with time built in to rest, enjoy the property and integrate what you are learning.

Whether you want to use Live Blood Analysis in the work you already do or simply want to understand your own health more deeply, I want you to leave knowing how to use the microscope, recognize what you are seeing and understand how to take that information further.

This is not about memorizing charts. It is about learning how to look.

A Special Collaboration with Elizabeth Wysen

There is another reason you may want to come a little earlier.

Elizabeth Wysen will be holding her retreat here at Living Ground immediately before my Live Blood Analysis Workshop. We have purposefully put these two experiences together, with a day between them to rest, integrate and enjoy Living Ground.

Elizabeth’s work focuses on the spiritual and emotional aspects of healing, while my workshop takes you into Terrain Theory, the blood, the microbiome, herbs, food and the physical terrain. Bringing the two together gives you the opportunity to explore health from very different directions within one experience.

You do not have to attend both. You are very welcome to come only for Live Blood Analysis.

If you would like to experience the complete program with both Elizabeth and me, the full package pricing is:

Offsite + Lunches, Snacks and Drinks

$4,150

Both Workshops + Shared Room + All Meals

$4,825

Both Workshops + Private Room + All Meals

You can learn more about Elizabeth’s retreat and register for her portion directly with her.
