Avocado – Large Local Variety

These avocado trees were grown from seed right here at Living Ground from a large local avocado variety that grows very well in our area. We collected the seeds ourselves and raised the young trees in our nursery, allowing them to develop naturally in our living soil.

The trees are approximately 8 months old and already well established. Avocados appreciate rich, biologically active soil, good drainage, regular moisture while young, and plenty of sun. As they mature, they can develop into large, productive trees that provide shade, habitat, organic matter, and food for many years.

Because these trees are seed-grown rather than grafted, each one is genetically unique. The eventual fruit may vary somewhat from the parent tree, which is part of the beauty of growing avocado from seed and adapting trees to our local soil and climate.
