Corn – Maíz J

A locally grown sweet corn with tender, juicy kernels and excellent flavor. Well suited to warm conditions and productive home gardens, this corn is best planted in full sun in fertile, biologically active soil.

Sow directly into the ground and plant in blocks rather than a single long row to improve pollination and ear development. Keep the soil evenly moist while the plants establish and during flowering and ear formation.

Harvest when the ears feel full and the kernels are plump and milky. Freshly harvested sweet corn is best eaten quickly, while the sugars are still high and the flavor is at its peak.

And do not throw away the corn silk. Corn silk can be dried and saved for tea or herbal preparations traditionally used to support the kidneys and urinary system.
