Poblano Pepper

Poblano is a rich, flavourful green pepper with a distinctive earthy taste and a noticeable spicy kick. The peppers grow larger than many hot peppers and are excellent for roasting, stuffing, grilling, adding to sauces, salsas, soups and cooked dishes. Their flavour becomes deeper and slightly sweeter when roasted.

Grow poblano peppers in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil. Keep the soil evenly moist while the plants establish and begin producing fruit. Harvest the peppers green for their classic fresh flavour, or allow them to mature further on the plant for a deeper colour and richer taste. Poblano plants appreciate warmth and a long growing season, making them especially well suited to warm climates.
